Saipin Hathirat, an academic from Mahidol University's family medicine department at Ramathibodi Hospital, recently conducted a study into the quality of health check-up programmes on offer.
The results were worrying. She said the check-ups sometimes subject patients to unnecessary and even dangerous tests.
