Village chief wounded in Yala

A village headman was injured in a shooting in Yaha district of Yala province on Saturday morning. 

He was identified as Maemud Tayeh, 38, village chief of Ban Tolohwae, tambon Patae of Yaha district.

According to witnesses, Mr Maemud was working in his rubber plantation when a gunman fired on him with a handgun. He was shot in the body and taken to hospital.
