Justice held up in South, study finds

Lengthy criminal justice processes, heavy workloads of police investigators and prosecutors and a lack of experienced officials have deprived far South residents of access to justice, an Office of the Attorney General (OAG) report says. 

Problems in the criminal justice system in the South stem from protracted investigation processes and unjust and inefficient investigation procedures, the report said.

This has resulted in inadequate and inappropriate evidence gathering, it said.
