Almost 1,000 patients have received wrong medicine due to packaging errors, the director of Makarak Hospital in Kanchanaburi's Tha Maka district said on Saturday.
The revelation came after the Government Pharmaceutical Organisation (GPO) admitted last week that staff had mistakenly put heart medicine into packaging for hypertension drugs.
The packaging mix-up occurred in July. The GPO said it had recalled all wrongly packed drugs from five hospitals in Kanchanaburi, Si Sa Ket, Chaiyaphum, Suphan Buri and Lop Buri provinces.
