Nine people were confirmed dead in the floods now affecting 27 provinces, Chatchai Promlert, director general of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department, said on Wednesday.
A total of 6,647 villages in 172 districts of these provinces have been hit by floods since Sept 27, affecting 1,798,270 people. As many as 4,069 houses and 659,077 rai of farmland were damaged by the floodwater, Mr Chatchai said.
However, the flood situation in Kanchanaburi and Chumphon has now returned to normal, he added.
