Govt reaches border accord with Myanmar

Thailand and Myanmar have agreed on the need for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as a framework for border demarcation. 

They agreed on the issue yesterday, the final day of the Thai-Myanmar Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) meeting, held in Bangkok.

Senior Thai and Myanmar officials will finalise the MoU ahead of the next meeting, which has yet to be scheduled, JBC meeting co-chairman Vasin Teeravechyan said.
