A 16-year-old boy who joined a vegetarian meditation group in Songkhla has died after attempting to drink 18 litres of water in one day, while his twin collapsed into a coma.
The incident occurred on Saturday. The twins had been told to each drink 18 litres of water in a day in the belief it would expel bad spirits from their bodies.
The younger twin suffered a seizure and his older brother fell unconscious. They were both sent to a hospital, where the younger boy died. The older boy remained in coma for a few days but is now safe.
