Navy specialists join black box search

- +

The navy's Mekong Riverine Operation Unit (MROU) has been asked by French experts to help search for the black box flight recorder of the Lao Airlines plane that crashed into the Mekong River near Pakse on Wednesday.

Capt Chaloey Kasemkunarak, commander of the MROU in Ubon Ratchathani province, said Thai divers from police and military units continued to help search for bodies of the Lao Airlines crash victims.

Capt Chaloey said French experts, who were on the ground looking for the plane's black box, had asked the MROU to dispatch sonar equipment and to help them search for the flight data recorder.
