Customs officials seized 475 turtles of two protected species after two suitcases left unclaimed at Suvarnabhumi airport were searched.

Customs investigator Jumpol Raengkasikorn said the two suitcases arrived on Thai Airways International Flight TG 322 from Dhaka in Bangladesh on Wednesday night.

They were left unclaimed at conveyor belt No.17 in Zone C of the airport for about two hours before customs officials decided to open them about 8pm.
