ATMs: More bank accounts hacked

- +

Eight people filed complaints on Wednesday at the Phaya Thai police station, complaining money had been siphoned out of their bank accounts and that they suspected their accounts had been hacked after they had used a Thai Military Bank (TMB) ATM machine at CP Tower 3 in Ratchathewi district.

Anupol Puwapulpol, a 53-year-old executive director, told police that 400,000 baht had been withdrawn from his bank account over 20 transactions on Tuesday without his consent.

Mr Anupol said that he and several of his colleagues, who also encountered the same problem, had used the same ATM machine prior to having their money stolen. The last time he used the ATM was on Nov 1, he added.
