Graft charge against PM, 312 others

The Network of Students and People for Thailand's Reform on Thursday filed a petition with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) against Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, Parliament President Somsak Kiatsuranont, Senate Speaker Nikom Wairatpanich and 310 other MPs and senators who proposed the charter amendment on the composition of the Senate. 

The petiton was submitted through Withaya Akhompithak, deputy secretary-general of the NACC, by Uthai Yodmanee, coordinator of the network, and Puangthip Boonsanong, the network's legal adviser.

In the petition, the NACC is requested to investigate and take legal action against Ms Yingluck, Mr Somsak, Mr Nikom and 310 MPs and senators who proposed the charter amendment which has been ruled unconstitutional by the Constitution Court.
