Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has sought royal permission from His Majesty the King for the return of the controversial charter amendment bill on the make-up of the Senate.

She has also sought a royal pardon for any act that may have offended the King, a government spokesman said last night.

Teerat Ratanasevi said Ms Yingluck had submitted the petition to the Office of His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary on Dec 2 but he had just told the media about it because he had only been informed of the move yesterday.
