Delivery delays mar school tablets plan

- +

Suppliers of tablet computers for the second phase of the government's one-tablet-per-child policy have failed to deliver the devices on time, a source from the Office of the Basic Education Commission (Obec) says.

Obec signed contracts to procure about 800,000 tablet computers for all Prathom 1 students in Zone 1 and 2 from China's Shenzhen Yitoa Intelligent Control.

It also signed contracts to supply 402,889 tablets for some Mathayom 1 students and their teachers in Zone 4 from Thailand's Jasmine Telecom Systems on Sept 23.
