Get prescriptions now, doctors warn

- +

Relatives of patients suffering from mental illnesses should contact doctors for prescriptions by this weekend to avoid potential complications arising from the protests next week, doctors say.

Patients who are deprived of their medicine could lose control of themselves and develop violent behaviour, Mental Health Department deputy chief Phanphimon Wipulakon warned on Tuesday.

The department is urging families of patients who have appointments at hospitals this week to ensure they are kept, or for appointments set for later this month to be rescheduled.
