The Royal Thai Police on Thursday said 26 of 27 weapons stolen by unidentified people during the clash between authorities and anti-government protestors in Bangkok's Din Daeng district last month have yet to be retrieved.

On Dec 26, in the vicinity of the Thai-Japanese sports stadium, demonstrators broke into police cars while officers were retreating and stole various police equipment and weapons, said Pol Lt Gen Sophon Pisuthiwong, commander of the Commissioner-General Office.

The missing firearms consist of six shotguns, 12 tear gas launchers and three handguns which are the property of the Royal Thai Police, and six other pistols personally owned by officers.
