The European Union has expressed deep concern about the deteriorating political situation in Thailand, describing the killing of four young children as "disturbing".

''The High Representative is deeply concerned about the recent incidents of political violence in Thailand. The death of young children is particularly disturbing,'' Catherine Ashton, the high representative of the EU for foreign affairs, said in Brussels through her spokesperson on Wednesday.
