A husband and wife who were gardeners were killed in an ambush by suspected insurgents in Yala’s Bannang Sata district on Sunday.

Security officials called to inspect two bodies on a road in Moo 9 village in tambon Bang Larng in the afternoon identified the couple as Prawing Noomna and his wife, Sunee, both aged 57.

The slain couple were travelling home on a motorcycle after visiting Bannang Sata market when at least two gunmen who were hiding in roadside bushes opened fire at them.
