Khunying Jaruvan to run for Senate

Former auditor-general Khunying Jaruvan Maintaka is to run for the Senate representing Bangkok. 

She was one of five candidates who registered for the March 30 election Thursday, bringing the total number of candidates to eight.

Khunying Jaruvan, a fierce critic of ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra who was involved in a controversy over her appointment as auditor general, was picked at No.8 in the candidate draw.
