The caretaker government and its opponents are expected to use all tactics to prevent senate election candidates who are "nominees" of their opposing camps from winning in the Senate election this Sunday. 

In a matter of weeks, the Upper House chamber will be packed with senators charged with deciding whether to impeach legislators and cabinet members.

The Senate plays a crucial role during this important transitional period as the House of Representatives is not yet in place and the caretaker government is facing many legal lawsuits brought against it.
