Rain-making misssions reduce haze levels in North

Chiang Mai: Haze particle levels in the air in the North have dropped significantly thanks to rain-making operations there, according to the rain-making agency.

The Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation Department's acting chief Surasi Kidtimonton said yesterday the department had completed 158 hours of rain-making operations in nine provinces in the North last month and successfully produced 10 days of rainfall.

More than 59 million tonnes of chemical substances were used in the operations with each rain-making flight costing around 120,000 baht.
