Tuition hikes for private schools

- +

The Office of the Private Education Commission has agreed to raise annual tuition fees for private schools by up to 2,000 baht.

The increase, a first in more than 10 years, means parents will have to pay 1,000-2,000 baht more for each child from 2,000-3,000 baht now, said secretary general Bundit Sriputtangul.

The new rates will be used by 3,000 schools starting from the 2014 academic year.
