Police told to be friendly to migrants

- +

Tak: Immigration police in Tak have been told to be more friendly with immigrant workers along the border following allegations of racism.

In a move to repair their negative image, police are being encouraged to make meksui, a Myanmar word for friend, with immigrant workers, especially those from Myanmar.

The Immigration Bureau is using this word as a key message to remind its staff to be more kind and accommodating to workers when handling their immigration requests.
