Chanont already sentenced to death for killing two policemen

The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld jail sentences handed down by the Appeals Court on a former army officer attached to the Supreme Command and two other men found guilty in a drug case. 

Former major Chanont Chinwong, alias Seh Not, Sukhum Chuachaemchan and Withoon Niyakij were arrested and charged that between Feb 20 and April 11, 2007 they had in their possession 12.7 grammes of ice, or crystal methamphetamine, and with selling two bags containing 1.01 gramme of ice to an undercover agent for 6,000 baht.

The Criminal Court sentenced Chanont and Withoon to 50 years in jail and a 3.6 million baht fine.  The court also gave Sukhum 16 years and two months imprisonment and a fine of 900,000 baht.
