Major seizure of rosewood, teak logs

At least 2,600 illegally harvested rosewood, teak and padauk logs, and processed timber, were seized in raids in several Northeast provinces on Friday.

In Si Sa Ket province, police, soldiers and local officials found 128 rosewood logs hidden in Jawae forest south of Ban Kan Som Tai village in Khun Han district. The logs were partly buried. They also seized two pistols, five saws, three axes and three sets of logging wheels at the same site.
