Phra Suthep surprises alms givers

Freshly ordained monk Suthep Thaugsuban, former executive of the Democrat Party and political protest leader, surprised alms givers in Surat Thani province on Wednesday morning when he turned up in his robes, complete with shaven head and begging bowl.

Phra Suthep accompanied two other monks from Wat Than Nam Lai, also known as Suan Mokkhabalaram, in their morning alms round in Samet sub-district of Chaiya district, Surat Thani, about 6.30am.
