Bills cover maritime, labour skills issues

The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has approved two legislative bills concerning maritime labour and labour skills development, according to permanent secretary for labour Jirasak Sukhonthachart. 

The first one is the maritime labour bill, which was proposed by the Labour Ministry under the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) of 2006 of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).

The bill is intended to protect the interests of the operators of Thai cargo ships flying the national flag.
