Supreme Court rejects Thaksin's case against ASC

The Supreme Court has rejected a legal challenge by former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his ex-wife to a ruling by an anti-graft committee set up after the 2006 coup that culminated in him being sentenced to two years in prison for abuse of authority.

The court said it had no jurisdiction in the matter. It ruled the case should have been filed with the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions. The ruling was announced at the Criminal Court in Bangkok on Thursday.
