The Criminal Court on Tuesday dismissed red-shirt leader Jatuporn Prompan’s bail after revoking his bail in a terrorism case on Oct 11.

The petition was filed by lawyer Winyat Chatmontri at the request of Mr Jatuporn.

It was his first plea seeking freedom since he was sent to Bangkok Remand Prison two weeks ago for breaking bail conditions by using incendiary words and referring to people in a way that could defame them in media interviews and a television programme he hosted on Peace TV.

Mr Winyat said the court rejected the plea for his client’s release on the ground that it just revoked the bail on Oct 11 and saw no reason to change its decision.

The lawyer said he would consider an appropriate time to petition the court again or may appeal against the bail withdrawal in the Appeals Court.
