Chen Namchaisiri richest of new NLA members

Chen Namchaisiri, president of the Federation of Thai Industries, is the richest of the 33 new members of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA) with 339 million baht of declared assets and no liabilities, according to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).

The NACC on Thursday released details of the assets and liabilities declarations filed by the 33 new NLA members, of whom 31 took their seats on Oct 13 and two on Oct 27, and of one former NLA member who left office on Aug 28.

The notice will be on public display from Dec 8-22 at the NACC head office.

All NLA members are required to declare their assets and liabilities to the NACC on taking and leaving office.

Of the 33 new NLA members, Mr Chen and his wife declared 339 million baht worth of assets without debts, followed by Pol Lt Gen Chanthep Sesavej ,with 282 million baht and no liabilities, and Adm Luechai Ruddit, with 187 million baht of assets over liabilities.

Adm Sucheep Wangmaitree is the least wealthy new NLA member, with declared assets worth 1.3 million baht over liabilities.
