Gen Panlop Pinmanee, a former deputy director of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), said on Monday he had nothing to do with a grenade attack on the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD)'s rally at Sanam Luang on Sunday night.

The explosion, which police said was of an M79 grenade, injured 12 people.

PAD leader Sondhi Limthongkul said Gen Chavalit Yongchaiyudh, the Puea Thai Party chairman, and Gen Panlop, also a Puea Thai member, might be behind the attack.

Both Gen Chavalit and Gen Panlop denied any invollement.  However, they said they had no intention to sue Mr Sondhi.

Gen Panlop also said he and Maj-Gen Chamlong Srimuang, a PAD leader, were still friends although they had not met for a long time.

You can't ask the PADs to back their accusations with facts. If they did, there would be no PAD. They only mimic what they hear from their leaders like parrots. I'm surrounded by them (PADs). My family, my friends...I know.

Tony - You can back up your wild accusations with some fact can't you?

The fact remains that the PAD benefits the most from these grenade attacks, so you have to wonder why other groups would put them on the front page for a week.

Well someone is behind all the bombs, grenades, and automatic weapons fire being thrown at PAD and its leadership - sure isn't just a bunch of dirtbags on motorbikes acting on their own.

In fact, its almost the same mode of operation that Thaksin used when he was PM, slaying his foes, stuffing them in barrels and floating them down rivers, 3rd tyrant-style.

That's the monster we want back in power? Closed airports are one thing, tossing grenades and murdering people is another.

Sondhi probably is the cause of all troubles faced in Thailand for the last several years.

Suing Sondhi is a waste of time, money and energy, as he is more protected than the highest religious persons and statutes. He has been convicted several times, and will probably be convicted again many more times, but he will never ever serve time. I will eat my entire body if I am wrong.
