The government will not move its operations out of Government House during the anti-government rally planned from Nov 29 to Dec 3, Prime Minister's Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey said on Thursday.
Mr Sathit said cabinet had still to discuss whether to the Internal Security Act would again be invoked in parts of Bangkok during the extended protest by red-shirt supporters of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship.
Asked if he thought the rally would become violent Mr Sathit said he could not say at this point. However, it seemed that the situation will become more violent because it appears that the protesters would like it to be that way, so they could use it as a condition to continue their political movement.
He was certain the government would be able to handle the rally - because it had learned from the experiences of past protests.
