The New Politics Party has lashed out at both the government and the opposition for "discrediting the country's judicial procedures" with their visits to suspected Russian arms smuggler Viktor Bout in prison.
NPP secretary-general Suriyasai Katasila said yesterday Democrat MP Sirichoke Sopha's visit to Mr Bout on April 15 at the Bangkok Remand Prison was inappropriate as he held the position of the prime minister's personal secretary.
He rejected as unsound Mr Sirichoke's explanation that the visit was in relation to his duty as an MP to seek information from the suspect.
