The absence of a key witness in court in the case in which the Democrat Party is accused of abusing an Election Commission grant appears to confirm speculation he has been abducted, the spokesman for the opposition Puea Thai Party says.

Suchat Koetmek sent a letter to the court yesterday to say he was experiencing health problems, but Puea Thai's Prompong Nopparit said Mr Suchat's absence appeared to lend credence to a claim he had made earlier that the witness had been abducted by people from the government camp because he could link two key players in the case.
