DSI admits death inquiry is faltering

The Department of Special Investigation admits its investigation into the 89 deaths during the red shirt protest in Bangkok is faltering and it is calling on those with information to come forward.

DSI director-general Tharit Pengdit said yesterday the department's work had been hampered by unfounded rumours that it would take action against those who have any information.

He said the DSI would appreciate receiving every piece of information in order to unravel the truth behind the April-May violence which led to the deaths of 89 people.

At this rate, the "investigation" will be completed round about the same time that Pattaya is awarded the winter olympics.....

It can not be easy for DSI to find all redshirt terrorists behind the killings.

So, PM Abhisit should consider removing Khun Tharit from the position. If Khun Tharit has taken so long for the case and still admits that it is faltering is a show of inefficiency. In this case, Khun Tharit is considered not qualified for the job and wonder why PM Abhisit is still keeping him there. Mr. PM, we are talking about integrtiy here. It is "Department of Special Investigation".

As a forensic psychologist it is very clear to me that there can be only a single one reason why an investigation into the killings of more than 90 people with enormous amounts of photo material and evidence based on witnesses being available can be faltering: This government ordered a whitewash - from a scientific point of view there is no other explanation.
