Change of PT leadership sparks hope for reconciliation

The changing of the leadership of the opposition Puea Thai Party is a signal of hope for reconciliation, Chaturon Chaisaeng said on Friday.

The former acting leader of the dissolved Thai Rak Thai Party was commenting on the resignation of Yongyuth Wichaidit as Puea Thai leader and speculation that he would be replaced by former police chief and former interior minister Pol Gen Kowit Wattana.Mr Chaturon said he learned about this from news reports and former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's Twitter message.He believed the development sent a signal for reconciliation and the change was likely to bring needed order to Puea Thai.If the new leader did not have much political experience, the party would have to arrange for available resources to help him, otherwise there would not any change, Mr Chaturon said. He did not say who this new leader would be, but was apparently referring to Pol Gen Kowit.More importantly, it was necessary for Puea Thai to adjust its structure and policies in order to win more acceptance.  The party must maintain the role of being the leader of the struggle for democracy through peaceful means, he said.Mr Chaturon declined to comment whether Pol Gen Kowit was suitable for the party leader's post, but said he believed a change would lead to reconciliation.However, he did not believe there would be an election in the...

    First of all, why choose him if he doesnt know about politics.
    Secondly, please thai people think about your vote. Dont embarras your country internationally by voting for someone that is clueless with polotics. You may want democratic elections but with that vote should go some responsibility.
