A key state witness in the CentralWorld arson case failed to positively identify two of four suspects as being among a group of rioters who broke into the shopping complex, as shown in a video tape presented to the court yesterday.
Anond Khempetch, the Zen Department Store employee who monitored the retailer's CCTV office on May 19 last year, told the Criminal Court that the video footage submitted to the court by the prosecutor showed only a group of intruders whose faces and heads were covered. On top of this, the light in the area where the pictures of the intruders were recorded was dim.
The two defendants - Pinit Jannarong and Saichol Phaebua - appearing in court for the third time yesterday were among four people arrested on arson charges. The other two defendants are teenagers and are being tried separately in a juvenile court.

Post this to my Facebook
@bluebkk Your comment #23 is spot on. You should post this in any comment section where the red shirts are in their usual denial.

dutchboy, discussion 18 "UDD in their right, yes for their cause, no for their methods. PAD in their rights, no for their cause and no for their methods." For what it's worth, I was always taught that methods and goals lined up (bad methods = bad goal, because a method will achieve a goal). If they don't, then you just haven't thought through what you're doing.

Reading through these comments, I still find it ridiculous how red sympathizers are still trying to justify their actions. If your red because you love Thaksin, try the US cables for short snapshots that will help lift you out from your sorry life of denial. If your red because you think there's injustice in this country, I agree with you, but your actions for the last 5 years are by no means justifiable for ANY cause. Wake up.

Sorry , discussion 24, I am not at all full of official propaganda ( I don't even like the yellow shirts) but reading your daily denials and excuses for your red thug friends I seriously doubt you were in BKK last year when your red friends started to terrorize our city. I was there, I have seen with my own eyes. i have been scared from such aggressive low life thugs and disgusted that the police let them get away with what they did! Lucky we had the army to clean them up after 2 months. The only solution to re-install some law and order versus mob rule.

#23, i think it's difficult if not impossible to make clear anything for you as you are full of the official propaganda. A sympathizer of democracy never can think same a lover of dictatorship. d/ they did burn some building to animate the dem's electoral campaign with the success we know.

Interesting to read the usual red thug sympathizers here with different views on last year's terror occupation of Bangkok. May the non-red sympathizers and the neutral observers please ask you which now is the official red version of the truth?? A/The redshirts did not burn down any of the 36 buildings B/ They admit to burn down some buildings but only because the yellow shirts occupied the airport c/ They did burn all the 36 buildings down but since they won the election they should be forgiven and put above the law Thank you for finally making it clear to us!!

I see one of the arsonists was wearing camouflage military trousers and boots, of course anyone can buy these items and it does not prove that the man was a soldier. The same is true of shirts, both black and red!!!

For all the PAD apologists on this forum, may I assist you with the following explanations: - the policeman that died was a tragic accident. He was directing traffic when he accidentely tripped, and fell in front of the pick-up full of PAD supporters that was backing up to make room for another car. - the busdriver showed interest in the items the yellow shirts were carrying, and while he was bringing them to government house, they chatted about the gun and explosives they were carrying. - no travellers were inconvenienced by the airport blockade. All of them were enjoying their stay in Thailand so much that they readily volunteered to stay a few days longer. - Mr. Veera and friends did not tresspass into Cambodia. They were lured into Cambodia because a market stand was put up in Cambodian territory with a big sign saying "special sale of Yellow shirts"

This court case is a pathetic display of Thai justice. No credible video footage, no credible witnesses, no identification of the "suspects" (or scapegoats) on trial. In other words, a waste of money and time.

@peterd #17 I agree with your comment: “i cannot compare the repression for the 2 groups, one fighting for dictatorship and other for more democracy” The PAD demonstrated peacefully and helped to get rid of dictator Thaksin who did whatever he wanted and undermined all checks and balance institutions. The red shirts blocked the heart of Bangkok and wanted to overthrow the government. They continued to wreak havoc even after Abhisit offered new elections in November 2010. You are right, this is very undemocratic behavior. And also don’t forget: No yellow shirts without Thaksin and his ‘honest mistakes’.
