The Election Commission has endorsed the MP status of Pheu Thai's top party-list candidate Yingluck Shinawatra, paving the way for her to be nominated as prime minister once the House of Representatives convenes its first meeting.
The EC also endorsed the status of outgoing Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, the acting Democrat Party leader, at its meeting yesterday.
The EC certified the status of 10 other elected candidates, including Democrat caretaker secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban and Pheu Thai's Chinnicha Wongsawat, the daughter of former prime minister Somchai Wongsawat.
