ELECTION COMMISSION
The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship is threatening to take the Election Commission to court if core leader Jatuporn Prompan is not endorsed as an MP by the time parliament convenes.
Its warning came after the commission endorsed 496 MPs, clearing the way for the House of Representatives to convene within 30 days of the July 3 election, as required by the charter.
Natthawut Saikua, a UDD leader and Pheu Thai list MP, said the EC had no legitimacy to withhold Mr Jatuporn's right to his seat.

Please enlighten me: time and time again, I was told, that it is hard for farang to learn thai, because the language is so much deeper than just "speaking"...there are all kinds of nuances and hidden meanings ...but if somebody says "burn down the city" he mean "burn down the city"...literally?! Just asking....

Let them take it to court, it will be a welcome step in demonstrating the UDD can actually work within democratic governance perameters and not try to force things from the streets. In doing so, do they pledge to accept the outcome if it doesn't work out in their favor? After all their April protests were bourne partly from the refusal of their mentor to accept his court judgement. Oh, I forgot, because of a little thing called the 'coup' you have a blanket clause to claim any verdict not to your liking is invalid because the judges weren't appointed by the elected winners.

Discussion #21; it is a milestone on this forum to see you finally concede Jatuporn and his red brothers were stupid! Most of us already know this for a long long time and , sadly, last year has seen the proof of this.

Abbub,#22, with all respect; if you write about Jatuclown; "He seeks out like few Thais dare to against lies and tyranny." do you think he should have done this as he did; with more lies, denials, distortions, and mob style intimidation????

Discussion 21, please and for the sake of objectivity stop turning things around...So the reds were burning and looting and terrorizing Bangkok because of the coup?? Sad strategy I would say... But then please stop to condemn the army for trying to stop that terror, stop the hospital invasion, break up the fortified camp in the middle of the city...they did their duty and only had to choose life ammo to protect themselves against the UDD militia, the man in black who were shooting live bullets and grenades....

The red shirts have been sold out by the PTP. The last thing the government needs right now is a bunch of broke peasants biting at their ankles for the scraps

Funny how Abbub and Peterd try to make the issue more complicated when it isn't. "so don't say that the people have a short memory." BUAHAHAHAHAHA welcome to Thailand you must be new. Ask me Ask me Ask me, about what policy I remember most from the PT or Dems. Populist party!!!! That's where it really matters to us.

Is there anything that the UDD won't threaten? They've been threatening everything for more than 2 years if it doens't align with their views.

Why does so many posters here think when people scrutinize the UDD and PT, they must be a DEM supporter wearing "yellow glasses"? Jumpe off your kratingdang band wagon folks.
