The People's Alliance for Democracy has cancelled its plan to hold a mass rally against a pardon decree in front of the Office of Council of State today, PAD spokesman Panthep Puapongpan said on Monday morning.
PAD core leaders were satisfied with the confirmation by Justice Minister Pracha Promnok yesterday that the proposed royal pardon decree will be in line with the decree that former justice minister Peerapan Saliratthawiphak of the former Democrat government had proposed, he said.
The planned rally - to oppose the attempt to seek a royal pardon for former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra - was no longer necessary.
