The government and Pheu Thai Party should warn Jatuporn Prompan, a core member of the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), against causing distrust and conflict among people in society with his comments, Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Sunday.
Mr Abhisit, the opposition leader, was referring to daily comments made in his interviews with the press by Mr Jatuporn, a Pheu Thai Party list MP, that there had been a movement to topple the government and the Nitirat group of lecturers had been intimidated over the proposed reform of the lese majeste law or Article 112 of the Criminal Code.
He said Mr Jatuporn should stop causing distrust and conflict among people in society.

canuck, yes they blocked the airport and government house. But they didn't fire grenade rounds into their own encampment. Your facts are unreliable. the reds in their two rampage ran riot throughtout Bangkok, causing arson (not to mention 2 gas truck bombs in residential areas), looting, murder, and embarassing the country in their crude show of democracy in Pattya. The degree of violence is all with the reds.

For the very first time in my life I agree with Mr. Vejjajiva. There is to say though, that if we really see a coup next April and Mr. Vejjajiva new PM of Thailand next May, well... that would not surprise me at all. Let' s see. I hope Mr. Jatuporn is wrong and I hope people won' t follow him this time. Thailand needs peace and stability, not another chapter of the reds and yellows soap...

Jatuporn was always working in favor and on behalf of the PT Party . In fact, the PT Party wants the military to declare in public, that there will be no coup. The PT Party fears the military and a possible coup the most and just uses Jatuporn and the red shirts to push the military to make another public statement. But General Prayuth will not fall into this trap; he will refuse to make a public statement- this is for sure. If it does not work, the PT Party will say, please Jatuporn, do not make such statements and they will defend him and grant him the right of free speech. It is always the same cheap political game.

englishbob. I am a brit also, and yes move on. Thats the only way to achieve a united country. people will also say what about the airport?. So yes move on, its not good for the country or the image of the country if people can not move on in their lives. What should be the case is that everyone one of us should unite and move forward. You should know that politicians are politicians and will never change. Just look at the UK. Its in a big mess now. Its divisions like this that will always cause a problem. Yes move.

Perhaps, Jatuporn is like salt. To some, it create taste while for others, it hurts the wound. In both ways, there will be healing when the truth comes about.

It's well known, and more in Thailand, there is not problem if you don't talk about it. Don't talk about a sickness is a good way to treat it, no? Basic principle, very adult, from people aspiring to govern the country.

The PAD blocked the Airport and Government house to name two. Guns were fired and bombs went off etc. Your memories of these events must be justified in your mind. Because you left out this important information. The airport is an international place where in most countries the people who did this would be in jail for terrorism. Because this is an act of terrorism.

Med142 - it's so easy to say 'forget about the past and move on...'. But The Democrats didn't blockade a capital city for 2 months. They didn't lose thousands of businesses billions of baht. And they didn't torch dozens of buildings. Oh and their leader isn't a criminal businessman billionaire intent on raping the country again.

From what Mr Abhasit says, in a a way that we should all work together to move the country forward. Yes we should and that includes inter party tit for tat. Nothing will change, or will it? There will still b one law for one and another law for all others. It will be so very good if we could all forget about the past and move on.
