The Constition Court on Monday accepted for consideration petitions filed by parliamentarians seeking a ruling on the constitutionality of two post-flood financial executive decrees.
One of the petitions was filed by 128 MPs of the Democrat Party on Jan 30 asking the court to rule on the legality of two executive decrees issued by the government - one for the Finance Ministry to seek 350 billion baht in loans, and the other to transfer 1.14 trillion baht in debt from the 1997 financial crisis from the Finance Ministry to the Financial Institutions Development Fund (FIDF).
The other petition was filed by 69 senators on Jan 31 seeking the court's ruling on the constitutionality of the executive decree to transfer the 1.14 trillion baht debt to the FIDF, which is under the central bank.

Bula, I love to see you write; "The Government has to rule the Country for the interest of the people ...".... we all know this is the truth but we also know your PT/UDD government is ONLY ruling to advantage the Great Fugitive and his cronies, don't we????

Very sorry Bula,#2, but you are clearly expressing your red version of Democracy. The government can only do what is legally acceptable, even if you think your PT/UDD government should not abide by any laws and rules...as their ultimate boss likes to do!!

Bula you miss the point. How can the govt be trusted, it's too easy to leave the determination of 'emergency' to the cabinet, giving them a blank cheque in effect. There are several channels for them get a budget passed quickly, provided it is debated first. emergency means, funds within hours or days. This was nothing more than a quick stunt by the cabinet to make money available without having to justify it or put up with critical debate. What are they trying to hide?

Issuing of executive decrees is within the framework of the constitution. Interpreting/reading the urgency/emergency of a matter is the responsibility of the executive. The Government has to rule the Country for the interest of the people in time of emergency created by the recent floods. Any effort even the use of judiciary is blocking and sabotaging the efforts to rehabilitate the country urgently.

This is a good sign. Taxpayers have a right to know where their money is used.Fed up with filling the pockets of corrupt people.
