The Democrats have attacked the government for planning a party to thank members of the Flood Relief Operations Command and others who battled last year's crisis, saying tens of thousands of flood victims have yet to receive promised assistance.
Prime Minister's Office permanent secretary Thongthong Chandrangsu announced the celebration on Monday.

Bula#4 "It is a 'thank you' party not a victory or celebration party" , you are semantic, whether it's a celebratory party or thank you party, it's still a party! How can you not see how this would look to those still under duress due to the calamitous FROC?

It is a thank you party to “show appreciation and gratitude to those who had worked tirelessly during the national flood crisis”. The one who work hard to help the people affected by the flood are not invited for sure! Invited are the one who wouldn’t given either their own money or a hand or leaving their office (except for picture taking) to build a dike or delivering food etc. to the needy. Yes make a party charge 100,000 baht each and give the money collected to the people who helped. How many you think will come? Shame on whom Bula?

PM YS ought to congratulate her AG Minister for a job well done at the dams last year!

Government incompetence, infighting, corruption ... have all contributed to yearly suffering across the nation. The Democrats are correct, no measures are being taken to prevent flooding THIS year, instead they are holding a party, the returning to political power consolidation. I would like the Democrats to propose a pragmatic program to avert a similar disaster this rainy season.

More than 800 killed and the puea thaksin party call a celebration party? So when is their party for the 2,500 murdered during the fugitive's war on drugs?

After the mismanagement of the floods under the democrat's government there wasn't much to celebrate other than some private pockets became a little larger. But that couldn't make the news headlines : )

The Dems are 200% right!! Calling a party for the total failure of CRES are truly UDD scrupulous tactics!

The Dems are right to highlight the fact that many many flood victims are still waiting to receive promised relief. The PM has spoken many photo-op assisted comforting words on this issue which, shamefully, have not been followed up by delivery of the assistance she promised.

What about the people who are still suffering? why not hold the party where they are? see what happens. Or better still invite them to the party. What about all the people who filled the sandbags? gave food aid, medical aid etc. These are the people who actually did the work, These are the unsung heros of the flooding, without the hardwork and dedication of these people in adverse circumstances and conditions, things could have been a lot worse. Well done to all the people who worked very hard.
