The government will file a motion to amend Section 291 of the constitution on Thursday to pave the way for the establishment of a new Constitution Drafting Assembly, chief whip Udomdech Rattanasathien said yesterday.
Mr Udomdech said government whips discussed amendments to Section 291 of the constitution proposed by the Pheu Thai Party at a meeting earlier yesterday.
He said they had agreed that following changes to Section 291, there would be elections in all provinces for 77 CDA members. Voters in each province will elect a CDA member. After that, parliament will select another 22 people to join the CDA.

Amending the constitution is needed, it's an abomination. "However, if the government tries to ease tension as I have suggested, the problems could be resolved," said Mr Abhisit. Well Mr A had over 2 years to do something and all he managed to do was make the situation worse. His suggestions have proven to be counter productive already.

Changes to the Constitution are not needed. The changes will be communistic. Watch out for your rights! The freedoms we have will be taken away from us.
