Govt floats option for flood loans bill
Emergency decree like a 'blank cheque', says Korn
The government will submit a bill seeking authorisation to borrow 350 billion baht in funds for its water management programmes if the charter court finds its funding decree unconstitutional.
Niwatthamrong Bunsongphaisan, a PM's Office Minister, said the bill would take three to six months to become law if necessary.
The government last month approved four decrees related to flood relief and water management investment, including one authorising the borrowing of up to 350 billion baht for new investment.
