Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra was glad to see warm relations between Privy Council President Prem Tinsulanonda and Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra at Friday's gala dinner at Government House, his legal adviser Noppadon Pattama said yesterday.
The dinner, costing 10 million baht, was a good beginning for the drive toward national reconciliation, Mr Noppadon quoted Thaksin as saying.
Thaksin had said Thailand had three key barriers to overcome: a lack of solidarity, the flood crisis and mitigating the impact of the economic crisis in Europe. If Thai people unite, the country will be able to overcome those challenges, Mr Noppadon said.
