The son of red shirt lese majeste suspect Somyot Prueksakasethe on Sunday vowed to complete his 112-hour hunger strike aimed at getting bail for his father even though he may have to move from his protest site.
Panitan Prueksakasethe, the only son of Somyot and a second-year student at Thammasat University's Faculty of Law, set up a tent in front of the Criminal Court on Saturday afternoon to start the hunger strike to demand his father’s right to be released after his bail requests were rejected seven times.
On the second day of his protest which is due to end on Thursday at 8am, Mr Panitan said he will move to the Bangkok Remand Prison, where his father is detained, to continue the protest in case the court considers his presence is blocking a public walkway and orders him to leave.
