The opposition whips on Tuesday passed a resolution to vote against the draft charter amendments proposed by the government, the Pheu Thai Party and a civic group, Democrat Party MP Jurin Laksanavisit said.
Mr Jurin, the opposition chief whip, said the opposition was of the opinion that if the constitution was to be amended then the changes should be made only to provisions which are seen as a problem by the majority of people.
The government and Pheu Thai's real purpose in amending the charter was not democracy or political reform, but to whitewash a certain individual.
