PM Yingluck denies any political meddling at THAI

There was no political interference in the removal of Piyasvasti Amranand from the posts president and chief executive officer of Thai Airways International, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Tuesday.

Mr Piyavasti said yesteray he thought his dismissal was politically influenced, denying he had a "communications problem" cited by board members as cause for his removal.

Ms Yingluck said the decision was made by the THAI board. The members of the board, who were appointed during the last government, voted 12 to one in favour of dismissing him.

This is just another reason why the government should privatize everything, otherwise they just put in people lacking qualifications in places they shouldn't be. We all know how the government operates with their expertise in purchasing and not operations.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong said he believed that the board acted for the airline's benefit.
What would TG benefit most, is privatizing, streamlining the organization where synergies exist, and compete with the regional and world reknown competitors for a piece of the cake. Until then, TG's reputation will be ongoing tainted with corruption, poor services and on time records, and goverment (political) interference for the benefit of a the selfproclaimed elites of any color.

Disc1-3 Thailand has strict employment laws. If Khun Piyasvasti was not performing, there would be a record of communication from the board stating the areas which needed improvement.
As he recently passed his performance evaluation without any issues being raised by the board, they have no case and the sacking is political (not 'made political' by the Dems).
If the next appointee is Sethi, that might explain why he was meeting with Yingluck in the not-secret secret meeting in the Four Seasons.

He's made enough money to last him a few more generations, time to turn in the key and give someone else a go. Political or not, thats not the issue.
