    D #3 and 4:

Please tell me where I can buy insurance against government ineptitude and dam mismanagement.

    D 6:

Perhaps if your house has suffered 500k in damages, as many of ours did because the government actively built an illegal dam out of big bags in the middle of the city, you would have a different attitude.

Since last year insurance has doubled in price, and not for only Bangkok, for the entire country even if you are not in a flood risk area. Additionally the limit the flood portion to very low limits and still double all coverage cost.
I have seen companies that refused to include flood coverage yet still demanded double cost over last year.
I think the insurance companies need to be investigated for price gouging. That is not to say the insurance agent is being dishonest, but the companies that actually insure and "re-insure" seem to be a little bit on the greedy side lately.

They should not block the roads but basically they have a point.... apparently this government has a hundred millions ready to bail out criminals and terrorists , but not enough money to compensate flood victims!

For those that are insisting that people shouldn't live in flood prone areas, please consider that Don Muang (airport area) had never flooded before so it is not reasonable to expect people to just pull up and leave. What if 50,000 or more houses were suddenly up for sale, what would happen pray tell? As for flood insurance, sure I have it (which is rare) but coverage is always on a depreciated value ie. if your refrigerator cost you 20,000 baht 5 years ago then you won't get replacement cost, you will get a percentage say around 10,000 baht but the new cost would likely now be 22,000 baht given inflation etc.

If you require the 100,000 tbht insurance I have managed to acquire it through our household insurance. It is not available as a stand alone contract.I hope the BN will allow this to be published as it is essential this news gets out to the public.

Tell the people that all the money that could have helped these people has been spent on bail for the red shirts.

Dis #3 and 4: I tried to buy insurance but no-one wanted the business. They refused to insure me as they considered the danger of flooding too high - and I was nowhere near a flood area. I was just trying to be cautious.

this kind of road block protest has been going on all of the time in the 20+ years that I have been living here. Any time the Thai people smell money they will jump up and block the road, this just smell like simple greed, and people whipped up by the usual activists
