Pheu Thai to slow charter push

THAKSIN ADVISES MPS TO TREAD CAREFULLY WITH CONTROVERSIAL LEGISLATION

CHON BURI : The ruling Pheu Thai Party is backing off on its plan to move ahead with the third and final parliamentary reading of the charter amendment bill. The move is in line with former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's suggestion that the party slow down the process

Despite the Constitution Court's ruling that the final reading of the bill is not unconstitutional, a lot of confusion remains regarding the next legislative steps, said former parliament president Pokin Polakul.

Under the circumstances, it could do more harm than good to rush the matter, said Mr Pokin at a Pheu Thai seminar held yesterday in Pattaya.

"Thaksin said a cabinet reshuffle would commence on Aug 12 to improve efficiency, according to the MP."

In case that there's any doubt on who the real PM of Thailand is, this statement should clarify matters. Amazing Thailand. Makes one wonder about the character of YS and the elected PT MPs.
